Brick and stone chimneys

Making the bricks for the restoration of the intricate chimneys of Hampton Court Palace was one of our finest achievements. The embellished red brick columns are a showcase for the skills of our brick-makers and masons, who use age-old masonry traditions to make impeccable replacement chimneys and design striking new ones.

Traditional red brick chimneys
The twisted red brick chimneys of the Tudors demanded exceptional skill to produce. They were made from soft red clay bricks, each rubbed precisely into shape.
We use these traditional methods with Kent's finest brick earth in creating the rubbed and gauged specials required to restore these chimneys today.
For other architectural styles, we are able to design moulds for any special shaped bricks that are required.
Natural stone chimneys
Our technical staff and masons are able to design and produce the chimney cap or other ornamental masonry for your chimney from any of our masonry stones. For renovations or restorations, we stock Wealden Sussex Sandstone along with York, Portland and Cadeby natural stone, a good alternative to Bath stone. These stones can be moulded, tooled and finished according to your designs.
Contact us to discuss the chimney you wish to replace, or, with the new design you have in mind for your project.
